The Ryder Cup is looming at the Celtic Manor golf club in Wales.
The team event between USA and Europe takes place every 2 years, alternating between US and European venues.
The venues, bi-annual, and team nature of the event all add up to make it a huge event in the golfing work.
A huge event in golf means chances to make money, because it provides an essential ingredient for the money making process - content!
If you can provide up to date content, you can then drive traffic to your money making offers.
Golf provides plenty of affiliate offers, which is where you send traffic to other sites which sell products, and then earn commissions on any sales.
Golf equipment is an obvious product area to go for, with people spending big bucks on golfing equipment.
Or, you might like to go for books written by or about golfers.
How about golfing holidays, another big business?
So, what kind of content would you use regarding the Ryder Cup?
Well, 2 main ones come to mind - firstly the history of the event, and secondly the inevitable interest in Tiger Woods.
Woods had to rely on a Captain's pick to even be on the team, and his year has not been a good one for him, has it? All the media want to know what he thinks, what he says, how he plays, so the content there is just waiting to be grabbed.
As for the history of the event, the rivalry between the teams can be feisty to say the least.
The last few events have been more civilised, after a few editions of the event had behaviour from players and fans which certainly ran against the ettiquette of golf.
So there we are - lots of reasons to use the Ryder Cup to generate profits!
